In a prestigious ceremony held at the Lahore Press Club, Ahmad Shafiq, Founder/President & CEO of the College of Tourism & Hotel Management (COTHM) and Chief Editor of Hospitality Plus magazine, was awarded Honourary Membership of the Lahore Press Club in recognition of his outstanding services to the youth of Pakistan and significant contributions to the media industry.
The event, organized by the Lahore Press Club’s Hospitality Committee, was attended by prominent members of the media, the Club’s elected representatives, and the dedicated members of the Hospitality Committee. Notable attendees included Imran Sheikh, Chairman of the Hospitality Committee, along with committee members Khawaja Aftab, Muhsen Ali Turk, Rafiq Khan, Muhammad Babar, and Fraaz Kasuri—who also serves as the Editor of Hospitality Plus magazine.
Arshad Ansari, President of the Lahore Press Club, presented the Club’s official souvenir and Honourary Membership to Ahmad Shafiq, applauding his consistent efforts in promoting skill-based education, hospitality training, and quality media content in Pakistan.
Ahmad Shafiq, through his platform Hospitality Plus—an ABC Certified monthly magazine—has played a key role in highlighting developments in Pakistan’s hospitality and tourism sectors. As a member of both the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE) and the All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS), he has contributed extensively to the elevation of professional journalism standards in the country.
Expressing his gratitude, Ahmad Shafiq announced a special lunch in the honour of the Lahore Press Club’s elected body and the Hospitality Committee members. As a token of appreciation and to strengthen ties with the media fraternity, he also announced a range of generous initiatives, including:
- Exclusive educational discounts for the children of Lahore Press Club members at COTHM.
- Free professional training and uniforms for the operational staff of the Lahore Press Club.
- Ongoing support for all hospitality-related initiatives launched by the Club.
The ceremony was marked by the spirit of mutual appreciation, as both institutions pledged continued collaboration in the fields of hospitality, youth empowerment, and media advancement.
