Pakistani citizens can now travel to 32 countries either visa-free or with visa-on-arrival access, following a significant improvement in the global ranking of the Pakistani passport. According to the latest Henley & Partners index, Pakistan’s passport now ranks 100th globally—up from 113th in 2021.
This remarkable leap highlights Pakistan’s growing diplomatic influence and stronger global partnerships. One of the key developments fueling this progress is the recent agreement between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), enabling holders of diplomatic and official passports to travel between the two countries without a visa.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced the agreement on X, noting that he signed the mutual visa exemption pact with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan. Dar emphasized that this move represents a shared commitment to strengthening fraternal ties and deepening institutional cooperation.
The agreement was signed during the 12th session of the Pakistan-UAE Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC), alongside a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on mutual visa exemption. Officials noted that this step will make high-level diplomatic visits smoother and reflects growing trust and collaboration between the two nations.
