College of Tourism & Hotel Management (COTHM) Global has marked a historic milestone by becoming the first hospitality and tourism education institution from Pakistan to participate in the 26th General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from November 7 to 11, 2025.
Representing Pakistan’s hospitality and tourism education sector at this prestigious international platform, COTHM’s Founder, President & CEO, Ahmad Shafiq, is attending the assembly, which also celebrates the 50th anniversary of UN Tourism.
The participation of COTHM Global in this global gathering highlights Pakistan’s growing presence and commitment to international tourism development, sustainable practices, and global cooperation in hospitality education and training.
UN Tourism is a specialized agency of the United Nations responsible for promoting responsible, sustainable, and universally accessible tourism worldwide. It works closely with member states and private sector partners to achieve shared goals that encourage growth, inclusivity, and innovation in global tourism.
A unique feature of UN Tourism is its inclusive structure, which allows private sector members to take part in its governance and policymaking, reinforcing the belief that public–private collaboration is essential for the advancement of global tourism in today’s interconnected world.
