Lahore Restaurant Association (LRA) Chairman Kamran Sheikh has delivered a stark warning regarding the future of the restaurant industry under continued time restrictions.
Addressing participants at an important press talk held at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) on April 27, 2026, he stated that the sector is already grappling with inflation and rising utility costs. LCCI President Faheem ur Rehman Saigol was also present on the occasion who also endorsed the demand of LRA.
The imposition of early closure timings, he said, is further accelerating financial losses and pushing many small and medium-sized restaurants toward permanent shutdown.
He urged the Government of Punjab, particularly Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, to take immediate corrective action by allowing extended operational hours to prevent large-scale business failures.
