HORECA Academy is set to organize an interactive entrepreneurship workshop titled “From Potatoes to a Business: An Entrepreneurial Journey” on August 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM at its New Garden Town campus in Lahore. The session is being organized in collaboration with the Chefs’ Association of Pakistan (CAP) and the COTHM Group of Colleges, with the aim of inspiring students and aspiring entrepreneurs to explore opportunities within the food and hospitality business.
The workshop will feature Ch. Abdullah Jaan, CEO of Chaudhary Fries and a COTHM alumnus, as the guest speaker. Drawing from his own professional journey, Abdullah will share insights into his transition from hospitality education to entrepreneurship and the development of his food business.
His session will focus on practical aspects of entrepreneurship, including brand development, financial planning, product development, business operations, and managing challenges within Pakistan’s fast-food industry. The workshop will provide participants with an opportunity to learn directly from an entrepreneur who has transformed his professional skills and experience into a growing business venture.
Adding a practical dimension to the session, the workshop will also feature a live culinary demonstration covering commercial food preparation, quality control, and menu scaling. The demonstration will help participants understand how culinary skills can be translated into commercially viable food products and consistent business operations.
The event will also include interactive activities and prize giveaways, encouraging participants to actively engage with the session and gain a more hands-on learning experience.
The initiative reflects HORECA Academy’s focus on connecting professional education with real-world industry experience. By bringing successful entrepreneurs and industry professionals into the classroom, the academy aims to encourage students to think beyond employment and explore entrepreneurship as a viable career pathway.
The workshop will take place at 186, Abu Bakar Block, New Garden Town, Lahore. Registration and event inquiries can be directed to Priya Zaidi at 0326-8480008.
Through this collaboration, HORECA Academy, CAP, and COTHM Group of Colleges continue to promote practical learning, entrepreneurship, culinary skills, and industry engagement among Pakistan’s emerging hospitality professionals.
