COTHM Tourism Students Step Beyond Classroom Through Industry Visit

What happens when classroom learning meets the realities of the travel industry? Students of the International Travel, Tourism, Airline & Aviation Academy, a project of COTHM Pakistan, explored the answer through an industry visit to leading travel organisations as part of Tourism Week 2026.

The visit provided students with an opportunity to step beyond textbooks and gain firsthand exposure to professional travel operations. As part of the activity, students visited Allied Travels, where they were hosted by CEO Mr. Fayyaz, and Travel Sure, where they gained insights from CEO Mr. Abbas.

During the visits, students observed how concepts discussed in the classroom translate into practical industry operations. The interaction provided an opportunity to understand different aspects of the travel business while gaining a closer look at the professional environment in which tourism and travel services are delivered.

The industry exposure also allowed students to interact with professionals and gain practical perspectives on the expectations, challenges and opportunities associated with careers in the travel sector. Such interactions can help students develop a clearer understanding of potential career pathways and the skills required to work effectively in a competitive industry.

For students studying travel, tourism, airline and aviation management, direct engagement with industry professionals can complement academic learning by connecting theoretical concepts with real-world practices.

The visit reflected COTHM’s emphasis on practical and industry-oriented education, where students are encouraged to learn through classroom instruction as well as professional exposure, observation and interaction with industry stakeholders.

Through initiatives such as industry visits, students can develop greater confidence, professional awareness and understanding of workplace expectations before entering the job market.

The Tourism Week activity reinforced the importance of Explore. Experience. Learn. Lead. as students continue preparing for professional careers in travel, tourism and aviation.

By connecting students with established industry organisations, the International Travel, Tourism, Airline & Aviation Academy continues to provide learning opportunities designed to help shape the next generation of tourism and aviation professionals.
