Babusar Top, situated at an altitude of 13,700 feet above sea level, has reopened for the summer season, reigniting tourist activity across Kaghan Valley and the surrounding northern regions. The scenic mountain pass connects Naran in the Kaghan Valley with Chilas in Gilgit-Baltistan and is typically closed during winter due to heavy snowfall and hazardous road conditions.
With the arrival of summer, the National Highway Authority (NHA) has successfully completed road clearance operations. While a formal notification from the Deputy Commissioner of Mansehra is still awaited, traffic has already resumed on the route, and tourism-related activity is gaining momentum.
Officials from the Kaghan Development Authority confirmed that preparations are underway to ensure tourist safety and convenience. Law enforcement agencies have set up multiple security and check posts along the route, extending up to the Besal area, to manage the growing number of travelers and provide assistance as needed.
The reopening of Babusar Top is expected to significantly benefit the local economy. The Hotel Association reports a marked rise in tourist arrivals, with hundreds of visitors reaching Naran daily. Hotels, restaurants, and tour operators are experiencing a surge in bookings, signaling a strong start to the summer tourism season.
Local stakeholders, including hoteliers and tour guides, have welcomed the move and expressed optimism for a successful season. They emphasized the importance of continued efforts by authorities to ensure road safety, timely weather updates, and travel advisories.
As Babusar Top reopens, it once again offers breathtaking views and adventure, positioning itself as a top destination for nature lovers and thrill-seekers from across Pakistan and beyond.
