“Basant Is Our Message to the World: Look at How Beautiful We Are,” Says Ahmad Shafiq

Reinforcing the cultural significance of Basant 2026, Founder, President, and CEO of COTHM, Ahmad Shafiq, has called on Pakistan’s youth to celebrate the festival with pride, purpose, and responsibility, describing Basant as a living expression of how beautiful Pakistan truly is.

In his message, Ahmad Shafiq said that Basant is not merely a seasonal celebration but a powerful reflection of the nation’s soul. “When our skies fill with colors and our rooftops echo with joy, we are telling the world a simple yet powerful story,” he said. “This is who we are. This is how we live. And this is how beautiful we are.”

He emphasized that Pakistan’s beauty lies not only in its landscapes, but in its people, traditions, and collective spirit. The laughter shared during Basant, the music, the food, and the harmony across neighborhoods present a side of Pakistan that deserves global recognition.

Addressing the youth, Ahmad Shafiq said they carry the responsibility of representing Pakistan in a digitally connected world. “Every celebration you share, every moment of joy you express, becomes a window through which the world sees us,” he noted. “Let that window reflect our colors, our warmth, and our dignity.”

He added that celebrating Basant responsibly is also a statement of maturity and cultural confidence. According to him, festivals become global when they are practiced with respect for life, law, and community. “Our beauty shines brightest when it is safe, inclusive, and respectful,” he said.

Highlighting the broader impact, Ahmad Shafiq stressed that Basant has the potential to strengthen tourism, hospitality, and creative industries while restoring pride in indigenous traditions. “When culture is celebrated with confidence, it attracts the world,” he said. “Basant can become a symbol of Pakistan’s creative energy and cultural elegance.”

Concluding his message, he urged young Pakistanis to own their heritage. “Celebrate Basant not just for yourselves, but to show the world how graceful, colorful, and beautiful we are as a nation,” Ahmad Shafiq said. “Because when we celebrate our culture, we celebrate our identity.”
