CAP & COTHM announce the celebration of “Nani_Dadi Heritage Cuisine”

The Chefs’ Association of Pakistan (CAP), in strategic collaboration with the College of Tourism & Hotel Management (COTHM), has announced the celebration of Pakistani Cuisine Day on 20th November 2025, with a very special segment titled “Nani_Dadi Heritage Cuisine.”

This unique initiative aims to honor the timeless legacy of Pakistan’s نانیاں (Nanies – maternal grandmothers) and دادیاں (Dadies – paternal grandmothers) by encouraging them to step into the spotlight and showcase their traditional recipes. The segment is designed to revive cultural and heritage dishes passed down for generations—prepared with love, sweetness, and care that only grandmothers can bring to the table.

For the first time, grandmothers from across the country will be invited to perform live at COTHM, preparing authentic dishes that reflect the soul of Pakistan’s culinary traditions. This is not only an opportunity to relive forgotten flavors but also a moment to acknowledge the true custodians of our food heritage.

Adding to the excitement, Mr. Ahmad Shafiq, Founder/President & CEO of COTHM, made a thrilling announcement:

“The world has seen our talent, but now it’s time to introduce our heritage in its purest form—through the hands of our nanis and dadis. Their love and legacy deserve to be celebrated. And for the best performers of this segment, we have planned some big surprises that will truly honor their contribution.”

The announcement has already created a buzz, as food enthusiasts, students, and families eagerly anticipate the upcoming event. With its strong focus on heritage and national pride, Nani_Dadi Heritage Cuisine is expected to become the highlight of Pakistani Cuisine Day 2025.

This groundbreaking celebration will not only revive forgotten recipes but also serve as a bridge between generations, passing the torch of culinary tradition from grandmothers to the world.
