COTHM Celebrates World Spaghetti Day 2025 with Culinary Passion and Innovation

The College of Tourism & Hotel Management (COTHM) celebrated World Spaghetti Day 2025 with enthusiasm and flavor, bringing together culinary students, faculty, and industry sponsors for a memorable showcase of spaghetti mastery.

Held at the COTHM campus in Lahore, the event was proudly sponsored by Haier and Mario’s Pasta, and featured a lively Spaghetti Cooking Competition as its main attraction. Participants competed across three creative categories — Classic Italian, Fusion & Innovation, and Vegetarian Delight — pushing the boundaries of traditional pasta dishes with fresh ideas and bold flavors.

The dishes were judged on taste & texture, creativity & originality, presentation & plating, and the effective use of Mario’s Pasta. Winners received cash prizes, certificates, and exclusive gift hampers, earning accolades from both faculty and sponsors for their outstanding culinary skills.

In addition to the competition, the day featured live cooking demonstrations by professional chefs, offering students hands-on insights into pasta-making techniques, sauce pairing, and artistic plating.

A cultural segment further enriched the experience, with presentations exploring the origins of spaghetti and its evolution from an Italian staple to a global favorite, emphasizing its universal appeal.

Haier played a key role in the event’s success by equipping the kitchen with state-of-the-art appliances, while Mario’s Pasta ensured the quality of the dishes by providing premium spaghetti used throughout the competition and live sessions.

World Spaghetti Day 2025 at COTHM was more than just a celebration of a beloved dish — it was a platform for culinary creativity, cultural appreciation, and student engagement, reflecting the institution’s commitment to excellence in hospitality and culinary education.
