COTHM Highlights Culinary Diplomacy at Pak-China Love Festival

College of Tourism and Hotel Management (COTHM) staged a prominent culinary demonstration at the Pak-China Love Festival, using food as a medium to celebrate one of the most time-tested bilateral friendships in the region. The Pak-China relationship, often described as “higher than the mountains and deeper than the oceans,” has a long record of cooperation in infrastructure, trade, culture, and strategic partnership. The festival was designed to celebrate that bond through cultural exchange, and COTHM’s presence turned the culinary segment into a point of attention.

Professional chefs and student teams from COTHM presented live cooking sessions that featured Pakistani flavours with refined presentation styles. The display served two purposes: to engage the audience and to use gastronomy as a form of soft diplomacy. Visitors — including dignitaries, overseas guests, and culinary enthusiasts — appreciated the institute’s effort to portray Pakistan’s hospitality sector with confidence and professionalism.

Over the years, COTHM has consistently represented Pakistan at national and international platforms, including Worldchefs congresses, global exhibitions, and cross-border culinary forums. Its participation has helped project Pakistani culinary talent as competitive and credible in the global market. By once again appearing on a Pak-China stage, the institution reinforced its role in supporting cultural diplomacy, international image-building, and skills development within the hospitality and tourism sectors.

COTHM’s contribution at the festival stood out as an example of how education, culinary arts, and cultural relations can work together to strengthen international goodwill and showcase Pakistan’s creative potential to the world.
