COTHM Okara Marks International Chefs Day with High-Profile Culinary Celebration

COTHM Okara, in partnership with the Chef Association of Pakistan, staged a high-profile celebration of International Chefs Day on October 20, 2025, drawing top culinary professionals, educators, and media figures to honor excellence in Pakistan’s hospitality sector.

The ceremony recognized the outstanding services of chefs and hospitality leaders. International Chefs Day Certifications and the Chef Belts Award were conferred on professionals for their contributions to advancing culinary standards in the country. Students and alumni of COTHM took part in large numbers, underscoring the institution’s growing influence in talent development.

A Fast Food Competition held on October 18 brought more than 50 teams into contention. Winners were honored with certificates, shields, and cash prizes during the main ceremony.

Speaking on behalf of COTHM Global CEO Ahmad Shafiq, Mr. Muhammad Usman Hadi welcomed the distinguished audience. Chief Guest Waqas Khalil, Managing Director of Cheezious, joined Professor Amir Rauf, journalist Rashid Chaudhary, and District Education Officer Bhavnagar, Mr. Rana Abid Hussain, in urging young chefs to pursue culinary excellence with commitment and professionalism.

The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, closing a day of recognition, pride, and momentum for Pakistan’s growing culinary landscape.
