COTHM & UN-IOM Join Forces to Raise Awareness on Legal Migration Pathways

On July 26, 2025, the College of Tourism & Hotel Management (COTHM) organized an impactful awareness session titled “Safe Migration and Legal Pathways” in collaboration with the Youth Employability Network, a flagship initiative of the United Nations International Organization for Migration (UN-IOM).

The keynote speaker, Shamail Rana, the District Focal Person for Lahore, delivered an insightful presentation focused on preventing illegal migration and encouraging legal avenues. He educated students about the step-by-step process for legal migration, including documentation, eligibility criteria, and the long-term benefits of lawful immigration. Additionally, he shed light on the serious consequences and risks associated with irregular migration.

To further enrich the session, a student group from COTHM presented their perspectives on various aspects of global migration trends, fostering an interactive and educational environment.

The event concluded with a group photo session, symbolizing unity and commitment towards safe and informed migration practices.
