Islamabad – Aman Faraz Durrani, the youngest woman from Gilgit, was conferred with the Pride of Pakistan Award during the 78th Independence Day celebrations, Marka-e-Haq, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to social welfare and humanitarian work.
Founder and CEO of the Durrani Welfare Trust, established in 2017, Durrani has dedicated her efforts to supporting orphans and underprivileged children. The Trust currently provides shelter, food, healthcare, and education to more than 50 children, while also running community support initiatives across Gilgit-Baltistan.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Trust distributed food rations to over 800 families, provided clothing to 300 families, and extended food assistance to 500 more. It also operates a free ambulance service for those in need. The children of the Trust, affectionately called “Our Stars”, actively participate in national events such as Independence Day and Pakistan Day, symbolizing their love for the country.
Acknowledging her efforts, senior officials, including former Commander FCNA Maj Gen Kashif Khalil, have supported the Trust by constructing classrooms and funding teachers’ salaries. Speaking to APP, Aman highlighted the need for a dining hall and multipurpose hall to provide enhanced learning and growth opportunities for children through lectures and activities.
The Trust has also organized motivational sessions and seminars with the participation of government officials and notable figures, inspiring youth and society to support vulnerable children.
Hailing from Konodas, Gilgit-Baltistan, Aman is the daughter of respected businessman Waheed Faraz Durrani. Having recently completed her F.Sc., she continues her mission with dedication, passion, and unwavering resolve to uplift her community and inspire future generations.
