Nikki Beach’s director of spa and fitness, Roberta Lindow has spent 15 years in the MENA region and four years with the company.
Lindow closed her first year of operation with 20% profit and 29% in the year thereafter exceeding budget target. In addition to that, she also established regional and international brand recognition and market positioning for the spa by winning three awards.
She has also conceptualised, and implemented the service delivery and brand identity of the Nikki Spa brand globally.
What advice would she give female hoteliers? “Find your purpose and know as much as you can about what you do and take immense pride in doing it well.”

Anke Glaessing
General Manager, La Ville Hotel & Suites
La Ville Hotel & Suites’ General Manager, Anke Glaessing brings with her more than 10 years of regional experience, she has a firm grasp of the nuances of hotel openings, as well as managing a happy team. She told Hotelier Middle East that diversity is always present in her line of work.
Her team is an international group, split equally between male and female. She assured that she assesses applicants on their attributes rather than their gender or ethnic background. Talking about her company, she continued: “For a company such as Marriott, the head is very diverse. They have a lot of female leadership. There are female leaders but not in the senior positions – this is where Marriott is exploring to grow.”
