The Skytrax assessment makes Islamabad International Airport the first airport in Pakistan to earn a three star classification. Skytrax awarded the rating after reviewing passenger facilities, service standards, and overall airport management.
In the same ranking, Dubai International Airport also received a three star rating, while Lahore and Karachi airports retained their two star status.
Officials said the rating reflects improvements in services and facilities available to passengers at Islamabad International Airport.
Skytrax, a United Kingdom based air transport rating organization founded in 1989, evaluates airports and airlines worldwide through professional audits of infrastructure, products, and staff service. The organization assigns ratings ranging from one to five stars and also conducts annual World Airport and Airline Awards based on passenger surveys.
