A presentation highlighting Kyrgyzstan’s diverse tourism potential was recently held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. Organized by the Kyrgyz Embassy with the support of local agencies, the event aimed to promote Kyrgyz tourism offerings to the Turkmen market ahead of the upcoming tourist season.
The event attracted representatives from 66 Turkmen tourism enterprises. Attendees were introduced to Kyrgyzstan’s regional tourism opportunities with a focus on all-season tourism, including active winter and summer recreation, sports, and medical tourism.
Innovative developments in Kyrgyzstan’s visa policy were also introduced. These included the launch of an electronic visa system and the new “Sapar visa” (Type “J”), designed to facilitate travel for international tourists.
The presentation was attended by notable figures including G. Bakyev, Deputy Head of the Tourism Department of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, and faculty members from the State Institute of Culture’s Tourism Department.
Turkmen tourism professionals expressed strong interest in future collaboration, including organizing familiarization tours and fostering exchange programs for tourism industry training and expertise sharing between the two countries.
