Pakistan’s tourism sector is experiencing an unprecedented surge, signaling a powerful comeback on the global travel stage. With over one million international tourists visiting the country last year—an extraordinary 820% increase—Pakistan is rapidly emerging as one of the world’s most exciting destinations.
The country’s natural beauty continues to capture international attention, with Gilgit-Baltistan earning recognition from global media giants like BBC and CNN, which ranked it among the top 25 travel destinations worldwide. This acknowledgment reflects Pakistan’s growing reputation for offering unique landscapes, cultural richness, and authentic travel experiences.
Ease of travel has also played a key role in this growth. Simplified visa policies for citizens of 126 countries, along with the introduction of the “Tourism on the Palm” E-Tourism portal, have made planning and exploring Pakistan more accessible than ever before.
To support this influx of tourists, the hospitality sector is expanding at a rapid pace. Over the past two years, 17 new hotel and resort projects have been completed, with 10 more in the pipeline across key destinations such as Gadani, Sonmiani, and Hunza Valley. These developments aim to provide high-quality accommodations and enhance the overall visitor experience.
With its improved infrastructure, global recognition, and breathtaking destinations, Pakistan is stepping confidently into a new era of tourism—positioning itself as a must-visit destination for travelers seeking adventure, culture, and natural beauty.
