The ceremony concluded with cake cutting and a grand fireworks display as chants of “Pakistan Zindabad” echoed across the venue. Diplomats and consuls general from various countries including Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Russia, UAE, Oman, Malaysia, and Indonesia were also in attendance.
Governor Tessori stated that celebrations would continue till August 14, and this year’s Independence Day would be marked with heightened national unity and passion. He also referred to recent Indian aggression, emphasizing how it had strengthened Pakistan’s resolve and united its people.
Meanwhile, a large rally from Peoples Chowrangi to Mazar-i-Quaid, led by Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani and organized by the Karachi Commissioner, officially launched the city-wide celebrations. He said Pakistan’s triumph had boosted the country’s global image and safeguarded its sovereignty. “By Allah’s grace and the bravery of our armed forces, humiliation was destined for India and victory for Pakistan,” he declared.
Thousands of events are planned across Sindh, including cultural shows, poetry recitals, fireworks, sports tournaments, and tributes to national heroes and martyred soldiers’ families. Mega events are set to take place in Karachi, Hyderabad, and Sukkur.
