Syed Haseeb Amjad Gardezi, CEO of Hospitality and Education at Hashoo Group, has stressed that cultural festivals must evolve beyond short-term celebrations and be developed into sustainable, year-round platforms to strengthen Pakistan’s tourism and hospitality economy.

Speaking on the future of cultural tourism, he stated that traditions like Basant cannot continue merely as seasonal or sporting events. Instead, they must be positioned as structured cultural legacies supported by strong legal frameworks, safety regulations, and professional management systems.

He emphasized that when festivals are integrated into long-term tourism strategies, they create consistent economic activity, support hospitality businesses, generate employment, and enhance international perception. He also highlighted the important role of media in sustaining cultural practices responsibly, shaping public behavior, and promoting heritage-based tourism throughout the year.

Syed Haseeb Amjad Gardezi further noted that hospitality education and industry collaboration are key to ensuring that cultural events meet international standards while remaining rooted in local identity.

He concluded by stating that Pakistan’s future tourism growth depends on how effectively it transforms cultural heritage into professionally managed experiences that attract both domestic and international visitors.
