President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, arrived in Pakistan on Friday on an official visit at the invitation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, marking his first visit to the country in his capacity as UAE President.
The UAE leader was accorded a warm and dignified welcome upon arrival. His aircraft was escorted by JF-17 fighter jets as it entered Pakistani airspace. At Nur Khan Airbase, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and his high-level delegation were received by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with senior cabinet members and government officials, according to a Prime Minister’s Office news release.
During the visit, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed held substantive talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The two leaders reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations and exchanged views on further strengthening the longstanding fraternal ties between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates. Progress in ongoing areas of cooperation was assessed, while new avenues for expanding collaboration were explored.
Both sides emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation in economic development, investment, energy, infrastructure, information technology, and people-to-people exchanges. They also highlighted the significant potential for enhancing bilateral trade and agreed to work closely to unlock mutually beneficial opportunities.
The leaders further discussed key regional and international issues and reaffirmed their shared commitment to close coordination on matters of mutual interest. Expressing satisfaction with the positive trajectory of Pakistan–UAE relations, they reiterated their resolve to advance shared objectives of peace, stability, and sustainable development.
The official visit of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is expected to further strengthen the deep-rooted brotherly ties between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates and give renewed momentum to their strategic partnership.
