The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sports and Tourism Department has confirmed that this year’s Shandur Polo Festival will run from June 20 to 22 on the iconic Shandur Top, home to the world’s highest polo ground at 12,200 feet above sea level.
The three-day event will open on June 20 with cultural performances and adventure-tourism activities. Traditional freestyle polo matches between long-time rivals Chitral and Gilgit-Baltistan will dominate the schedule, culminating in the grand final on June 22.
Recognized worldwide for its dramatic mountain setting and high-speed, no-rules style of play, the festival also features folk music, handicraft stalls, local cuisine, and camping under the stars—drawing thousands of spectators from across Pakistan and abroad.
Officials say that all logistics, security measures, medical posts, and visitor facilities have been finalized to ensure a safe and memorable experience for players and tourists alike.
