FPCCI Applauds Punjab Government’s Rs10 Billion “Air Punjab” Initiative to Boost Connectivity and Economic Growth

The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) Regional Committee on Food has extended a warm welcome to the Punjab government’s groundbreaking decision to launch its own airline, “Air Punjab,” with an allocation of Rs10 billion in the provincial budget.

In a statement issued on Monday, Shahid Imran, Convener of the FPCCI Regional Committee on Food, congratulated Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif on this visionary move.

He termed the initiative as a major milestone towards improving regional connectivity, promoting tourism, and accelerating economic development across the province.

“Air Punjab will not only enhance inter-city travel within the province but also offer improved access for investors, exporters, and business travelers to key commercial hubs,” he said.

The FPCCI believes the project will generate substantial employment opportunities while uplifting associated sectors such as hospitality, logistics, and travel.

Shahid Imran added that by prioritizing infrastructure development and modernizing transportation, the Punjab government is laying a strong foundation for sustainable economic advancement.
