Afghanistan Unveils Locally-Made Bus & Car in Major Industrial Milestone

Kabul (The Azadi Times) — In a significant push towards self-reliance and economic revitalization, the Afghan Taliban government has officially unveiled a locally manufactured bus and car at the inauguration of a new industrial complex in Kabul.

Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, and Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs, Maulvi Abdul Salam Hanafi, led the ceremony. The newly opened National Development Corporation Complex is currently producing over 105 types of products, including agricultural machinery, small factory equipment, vehicle parts, and transport vehicles.

Among the showcased items were the first-ever locally produced bus and car, with members of the Afghan cabinet, including Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid, taking a ride in the newly built bus.

Mujahid posted pictures of himself inside the bus on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), addressing previous skepticism:

“A few days ago I announced that Afghanistan had built its first national bus. Many commented — some claimed the image belonged to another company, others called it propaganda… Last night I rode in the same national bus and thank the National Development Corporation for fulfilling its promise.”

This bold display of domestic production is being hailed as a milestone in Afghanistan’s attempt to revive its industrial base amid ongoing economic challenges.
