Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Launches Free Public Wi-Fi in Peshawar

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has launched a free public Wi-Fi service in Peshawar, providing residents with internet access at key public locations, including hospitals, parks, bus terminals, and other high-traffic areas.

The initiative is designed to enhance digital connectivity and improve access to online services for students, professionals, commuters, and the general public. By offering free internet in public spaces, the government aims to make education, communication, and essential digital services more accessible.

Officials said the project will enable users to conveniently access online learning platforms, government services, healthcare information, and other digital resources while on the move. Additional public Wi-Fi hotspots are planned for future phases as part of the province’s broader digital transformation strategy.

The initiative is expected to promote digital inclusion, bridge connectivity gaps, and support the growing demand for reliable internet access in public spaces. Authorities believe expanding free Wi-Fi services will contribute to improved public convenience, greater digital literacy, and enhanced access to information.

The launch marks another step toward building a smarter and more digitally connected Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with further expansion planned across the province.
