Lahore is set to host a two-day Competition Seminar focused on pastry art, culinary competitions and professional judging standards on October 28 and 29, 2026. Organised by the Chef’s Association of Pakistan (CAP), the seminar will bring together chefs, competition participants and aspiring culinary judges for an intensive learning and professional development experience.
The seminar will take place from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on both days at an onsite venue in Lahore. Participants interested in attending have been advised to contact Faraz Kasuri for registration and further information.
The Competition Seminar is designed to provide participants with practical knowledge from the perspective of Worldchefs Certified Judges and award-winning culinary competitors. The sessions will focus on competition rules, judging criteria, presentation standards, kitchen practices and strategies that can help competitors improve their performance and achieve higher scores.
For culinary competitors, the seminar will provide an opportunity to understand the complete competition process, from preparation and service to presentation and final evaluation. Participants will also be introduced to current culinary trends, innovations in professional kitchen equipment and emerging technologies relevant to modern culinary competitions.
The seminar is also particularly relevant for chefs interested in developing careers in culinary judging. According to the seminar information, participation is an important component of the pathway towards becoming a Worldchefs Certified Judge. Participants receive a certificate of participation, which can be submitted as one of the required credentials in the certification application process. However, attendance alone does not automatically qualify an individual as a Worldchefs Certified Judge, as applicants must fulfil additional requirements and complete the formal approval process.
For existing Worldchefs Certified Judges, Competition Seminars provide an opportunity to remain updated on competition rules, judging standards and developments in the culinary sector. Certified judges are required to attend a Competition Seminar every five years as part of maintaining their professional knowledge.
Beyond technical learning, the Lahore seminar is expected to provide opportunities for networking among competition chefs, aspiring judges, culinary professionals and other individuals involved in the competitive culinary sector. Interaction with experienced instructors and fellow participants can further support professional development and knowledge exchange.
The event reflects the growing importance of structured competition training and international judging standards within the culinary profession. By bringing together competitors and prospective judges, the seminar aims to strengthen understanding of contemporary competition practices while encouraging higher standards of pastry and culinary presentation.
The two-day programme will therefore offer participants an opportunity to strengthen their competition knowledge, explore contemporary culinary developments and gain insight into the standards applied in professional culinary competitions.
