In celebration of World Food Safety Day, COTHM Islamabad hosted an engaging and informative guest speaker session to highlight the critical importance of food safety in the hospitality and culinary industries.
The session featured Ms. Meesha, the Food Safety and Quality Control Manager at Best Western Premier, who shared valuable insights into real-world food safety operations and the rigorous quality-control measures implemented in a luxury hotel environment.

Hospitality and culinary students actively participated in the interactive session, gaining firsthand knowledge about industry standards, food handling procedures, risk prevention strategies, and the role of food safety in ensuring customer well-being and organizational excellence.
A key highlight of the event was a live Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) demonstration, where students observed the correct use and implementation of protective gear required to maintain the highest levels of hygiene and safety in professional kitchens and hospitality settings.

The session provided students with practical exposure to industry expectations while reinforcing the importance of maintaining food safety standards throughout the food service chain. Events such as these reflect COTHM’s commitment to bridging the gap between academic learning and industry practice, preparing future hospitality professionals to excel in a highly regulated and quality-driven sector.
COTHM Islamabad extends its sincere appreciation to Ms. Meesha for sharing her expertise and inspiring the next generation of hospitality and culinary leaders to prioritize food safety and professional excellence.
