On Sunday, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Taimoor Khan urged tourists visiting Murree tourism and other hill stations to carefully abide by the regulations of the road to prevent traffic congestion and any accidents. An official stated that the CTP has issued a traffic advisory for travellers wishing to enjoy the winter snowfall in Murree and other hill areas. Heavy snowfalls and road blockages used to cause traffic bottlenecks as people rushed to mountain resorts to enjoy snowstorm. Incorrect parking, double lines, and snapping selfies in the middle of the road were all discouraged by Taimoor Khan. He explained that more traffic wardens had been sent out to assist tourists and gave them advice on how to follow the regulations of the road and not drive too fast.

Before visiting hill stations, he advised the tourists to keep their vehicles in good condition. He said the CTP had created a proper traffic strategy to ensure a smooth flow of traffic and had also asked the populace to assist the police. He mentioned that CTP Rawalpindi had released a thorough traffic plan to aid tourists travelling to Murree adding that only a maximum of 8,000 vehicles would be permitted to enter Murree tourism during the hours of 5:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. For the convenience of tourists, over 270 Traffic Police officers were deployed as planned. Additionally, special pickets had been placed at each of Murree’s gates and toll booths as a precaution.
