Like every year, the Chefs’ Association of Pakistan (CAP) and the College of Tourism and Hotel Management (COTHM) Karachi celebrated Chefs’ Day 2025 in a grand ceremony at the Bahria Auditorium. The event brought together senior officials, foreign dignitaries, top chefs, and hospitality professionals to honor culinary excellence and promote international cooperation.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Royal Thai Consulate, celebrated chefs, food industry experts, and leaders from the tourism and hospitality sectors. The Chief Guest was Mr. Muhammad Irfan Soomro from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while the Guest of Honor was H.E. Surashhete Bootinand, Royal Thai Consul General, whose participation marked a strong gesture of Pakistan–Thailand culinary collaboration.
The celebration included a Chef Walk, Certificate Distribution, and Cake Cutting Ceremony. Students, faculty members, and industry professionals were recognized for their services and achievements. Three chefs from Karachi were formally inducted into the National Culinary Team of Pakistan and were honored with belts for representing the nation in international competitions. The new Executive Committee of CAP Karachi was also announced on this occasion.
More than 500 young chefs and students received CAP membership and took the professional oath administered by Chef Aamir Iqbal, Vice President CAP Karachi Chapter. A panel talk on “Culinary & AI — From Fire to Algorithm” brought culinary and technology experts together to discuss future trends, innovation, and the role of AI in gastronomy.
COTHM Pakistan announced that November 20 will now be celebrated nationwide as “Pakistan Cuisine Day” to promote native food culture at the national level. The Royal Thai Consul General assured full support for future culinary cooperation and highlighted shared cultural values between Pakistan and Thailand.
In closing remarks, Executive Director Sabir Ahmed expressed gratitude to all dignitaries and reaffirmed COTHM’s mission to develop world-class chefs who elevate Pakistan’s culinary identity on global platforms. The event closed with a message that Chefs’ Day is a tribute to the passion, artistry, and service of chefs who bring joy, unity, and prestige to the profession.
