PM directs early completion of IT Park in Islamabad

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the completion of the IT Park in Islamabad at the earliest.

He gave these directions during a special visit to the under-construction IT Park in Islamabad on the occasion of Independence Day. This marked his third visit to the site of the ongoing project.

The Prime Minister stressed that the project must be completed within the timeframe originally specified.

The Prime Minister expressed displeasure over the slow pace of construction and reprimanded the officials concerned present at the site. He further instructed that the park be equipped with facilities meeting international standards.

He urged all responsible officials to redouble their efforts to ensure the timely completion of this project.

The project was originally scheduled for completion by 23rd March this year, but has faced delays.

It is worth noting that during the tenure of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, no substantial progress was made on this initiative.

Upon assuming office, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gave special attention to the IT Park project and initiated its development.

The Prime Minister was briefed that the IT Park comprises two basement levels, a ground floor, and nine upper floors. It also includes office spaces, an incubation center, business support center, Research and Development laboratories, a Level III Data Center, an auditorium, and parking for 1,200 vehicles.

The park aims to create employment opportunities for youth, boost economic growth, enhance global IT competitiveness and bridge the digital divide.
