TDCP completes tourist resort in Cholistan ahead of jeep rally

With the cost of more than 20 million, the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP resort) has completed the construction of a tourist resort near the historic Derawar Fort.

The resort was completed in time for the 18th desert jeep rally, an annual event set to take place in Cholistan in February 2023. The divisional and district administrations have already mobilised all relevant departments and agencies to ensure the event’s success.

The local government has already begun making preliminary plans for the 18th Jeep rally. In this regard, Divisional Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar and Deputy Commissioner Zahid Parvaiz Wariach recently visited the site of the jeep rally near Derawar Fort and issued necessary instructions to subordinate staff for repairs to the roads leading to the fort from Bahawalpur, as well as provision of other basic amenities for the convenience of the visitors, tourists, and participating drivers expected to gather in the area from across the country.

TDCP resorts are in charge. Misbah Ishaq told the press that the facility spans five acres. It also has a waiting room, six bedrooms, three bath blocks with 20 public baths, a parking lot, and a camping area for visitors and tourists. He stated that the building department would soon hand over the building to the TDCP, which would furnish it to provide all kinds of facilities to visiting tourists and visitors prior to the start of the Jeep rally.
