TGI Fridays and Meerab Hospitality have signed a development agreement to expand the international casual-dining brand’s presence across Pakistan, marking a new phase of growth for the restaurant chain in the country.
Under the agreement, Meerab Hospitality, the franchise and development arm of Meerab Properties, will lead the development of 15 TGI Fridays restaurants across Pakistan over the next decade through a combination of company-owned and approved sub-franchised locations.
The first flagship TGI Fridays restaurant is planned at the Hyatt Regency Hotel complex in Lahore, with the opening targeted within the next 12 months. The launch will mark an important step in the brand’s planned expansion and strengthen its presence in Pakistan’s evolving hospitality and restaurant sector.
For TGI Fridays, the partnership with Meerab Hospitality forms part of its broader international growth strategy, which focuses on working with experienced local partners to expand its global restaurant network. Pakistan is being viewed as a market with long-term potential due to its large young population, expanding urban centres and growing demand for international dining concepts.
Meerab Hospitality will be responsible for developing the TGI Fridays network in Pakistan, bringing its experience across hospitality and property development to the partnership. The planned expansion is expected to create new opportunities for investment, employment and hospitality-sector talent while introducing the brand’s American casual-dining concept to consumers in major Pakistani cities.
The agreement also reflects the increasing interest of international restaurant brands in Pakistan’s food and hospitality market. Lahore, in particular, continues to attract international hospitality and dining concepts because of its established restaurant culture, commercial developments and growing consumer demand for diverse dining experiences.
The planned network of 15 restaurants will allow TGI Fridays and Meerab Hospitality to gradually expand beyond Lahore into other major urban markets, subject to development and market conditions.
The partnership is part of TGI Fridays’ wider international expansion programme and supports its long-term strategy of growing through franchise and development partnerships. For Pakistan, the investment represents another addition to the country’s increasingly diverse international restaurant and hospitality landscape.
