The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC), in collaboration with Vivo Pakistan, has moved the National Youth Mobile Travel & Tourism Videography Competition 2026 into its most exciting phase as nearly 60 aspiring travel content creators set out for practical field assignments at some of Punjab’s most iconic heritage and tourism destinations.
After completing an intensive training workshop focused on Mobile Journalism (MoJo), digital storytelling, documentary filmmaking, smartphone videography, and content creation, participants were divided into teams and dispatched to Rohtas Fort, Katas Raj Temples, and Patriata to put their newly acquired skills into practice.

The field assignments challenge participants to produce compelling tourism-focused content using only their smartphones. Each team is tasked with creating engaging social media reels and a three-minute documentary that captures the cultural, historical, natural, and human stories associated with their designated destination.
The initiative aims to transform young Pakistanis into ambassadors of tourism by empowering them to tell authentic stories that showcase the country’s diverse heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and vibrant communities. Through hands-on learning and real-world experiences, participants are gaining practical exposure to documentary production, visual storytelling, interviewing techniques, mobile cinematography, and digital content creation.

Speaking about the initiative, Aftab ur Rehman Rana, Managing Director of PTDC, emphasized the power of storytelling in shaping perceptions and inspiring travel.
“Every destination has a story, and every story has the power to inspire a journey. Through this competition, PTDC is investing in a new generation of storytellers who will help redefine how Pakistan is seen by the world. By combining creativity, technology, and tourism, we are creating opportunities for young people to become champions of Pakistan’s heritage, culture, and natural beauty,” he said.

He further highlighted that experiential learning remains at the heart of the program, enabling participants to connect directly with tourism destinations and transform their observations into meaningful narratives capable of inspiring domestic and international travelers.
The documentaries and digital content produced during the field assignments will be evaluated by an independent panel comprising experts from the fields of media, filmmaking, tourism, and digital content creation. Based on creativity, storytelling ability, technical quality, and tourism promotion potential, the jury will shortlist the Top 20 participants.
These finalists will be rewarded with a fully sponsored seven-day documentary and storytelling expedition to Pakistan’s Northern Areas, where they will receive advanced training while documenting some of the country’s most spectacular natural and cultural attractions.

To further encourage excellence in digital storytelling, the Top Three participants will also receive Vivo smartphones to support their future work in mobile photography, videography, and content creation.
The National Youth Mobile Travel & Tourism Videography Competition reflects PTDC’s broader vision of developing a new generation of digital storytellers capable of promoting Pakistan’s tourism potential on national and international platforms. By integrating training, field immersion, competition, and mentorship, the initiative is helping create a dynamic network of content creators dedicated to showcasing Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and natural beauty.
As tourism increasingly embraces digital platforms, programs like this are equipping young creators with the tools and opportunities needed to tell Pakistan’s story to the world, one destination at a time.
