CM Maryam Nawaz Orders Immediate Provision of Cold Drinking Water Across Punjab Amid Intense Heatwave

In response to the ongoing severe heatwave affecting large parts of the province, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed authorities to ensure the immediate provision of cold drinking water for citizens across Punjab.

The directive aims to provide relief to the public as temperatures continue to soar, increasing the risk of heat-related illnesses. Relevant departments and local administrations have been instructed to establish and maintain cold water facilities at public places, markets, bus terminals, hospitals, schools, and other high-traffic areas.

The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of taking proactive measures to safeguard public health during extreme weather conditions and directed officials to ensure uninterrupted access to clean and chilled drinking water throughout the province.

The initiative is part of the Punjab government’s broader efforts to minimize the impact of the heatwave and provide essential services to citizens, particularly vulnerable groups such as children, senior citizens, outdoor workers, and daily commuters.

Authorities have also been urged to remain vigilant and implement additional heatwave management measures to protect public well-being during the ongoing period of extreme temperatures.
