The Peshawar district administration has imposed a ban on swimming, bathing, and boating in rivers, canals, dams, and other waterways as part of enhanced public safety measures aimed at preventing drowning incidents and protecting lives.
According to the administration, the restrictions have been introduced in response to the increased risk of accidents, particularly during the summer season when many people visit water bodies for recreation. Authorities have directed law enforcement agencies and relevant departments to ensure strict implementation of the ban.
Officials warned that entering restricted waterways poses serious safety hazards due to strong currents, fluctuating water levels, and other dangerous conditions. The administration has urged residents to cooperate with the authorities and avoid recreational activities in unauthorized areas.
The district administration also emphasized that awareness campaigns will be conducted to educate the public about water safety and the importance of following official guidelines. Legal action may be taken against individuals found violating the restrictions.
Authorities believe the preventive measures will help reduce drowning incidents, improve public safety, and ensure the protection of lives during the peak summer season.
