Faisal Rana began his professional journey as a commissioned officer in the Pakistan Navy, where he served with distinction before pursuing higher education in engineering. He later earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Marine Engineering, laying the foundation for a successful career spanning both the public and private sectors.
Following his move to the United Kingdom, Rana established himself as a respected community leader and business professional. He accumulated more than two decades of industry experience, including serving as a director in a company associated with Shell UK, while actively contributing to civic life in Rochdale.
Before being elected mayor, Rana held several important leadership positions within Rochdale Council, including Assistant Cabinet Member for Public Health, where he worked on initiatives aimed at improving community well-being and public services. His dedication to public service and community engagement earned him widespread respect among local residents and fellow council members.
Beyond his professional and political achievements, Faisal Rana is a licensed private pilot and an enthusiastic badminton player, reflecting his diverse interests and commitment to lifelong learning and personal development.
