COTHM Celebrates World Food Safety Day 2026, Reinforcing Commitment to Excellence in Hospitality Education

The College of Tourism and Hotel Management (COTHM) proudly celebrated World Food Safety Day 2026, reaffirming its commitment to promoting food safety, hygiene, and quality standards across the hospitality and culinary sectors.

The event brought together students, faculty members, and hospitality professionals to highlight the vital role of food safety in protecting public health and ensuring excellence within the global food industry. Through educational activities, awareness sessions, and industry-focused discussions, participants explored the importance of adopting safe food handling practices and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene throughout the food supply chain.

As one of the leading hospitality and culinary education institutions in Pakistan, COTHM continues to emphasize the significance of food safety as a core component of professional training. The celebration served as a platform to educate future chefs, hospitality managers, and food industry professionals about their responsibility in delivering safe, nutritious, and high-quality food to consumers.

Speaking on the occasion, COTHM representatives stressed that food safety is not merely a regulatory requirement but a fundamental commitment to public well-being. They highlighted the importance of continuous learning, adherence to international food safety standards, and the adoption of best practices that help prevent foodborne illnesses and enhance consumer confidence.

The event also encouraged students to become ambassadors of food safety by applying their knowledge in professional kitchens, restaurants, hotels, and food service operations. Through practical training and industry engagement, COTHM aims to equip graduates with the skills and awareness needed to contribute positively to the hospitality and culinary industries.

World Food Safety Day, observed annually on June 7, serves as a global reminder that food safety is everyone’s responsibility. The day promotes awareness and collective action among governments, educational institutions, businesses, and consumers to ensure that food remains safe at every stage, from production to consumption.

By celebrating World Food Safety Day, COTHM once again demonstrated its dedication to developing responsible hospitality professionals who understand the critical connection between food safety, public health, and industry excellence. The institution remains committed to fostering a culture of awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement, helping build a safer and healthier future for communities worldwide.
