COTHM Pakistan hosted an inspiring session titled “Scale Up Your Restaurant: The Secrets Behind 500+ Franchises!”, featuring Pakistani-American entrepreneur and franchise business leader Tanweer Ahmed, who shared insights from his entrepreneurial journey and experience in building and scaling franchise businesses across the United States.
The session provided aspiring entrepreneurs, hospitality professionals and future business leaders with an opportunity to explore the principles behind successful franchise development and business expansion. Drawing on his experience, Tanweer Ahmed discussed the importance of strategic planning, operational consistency, business growth and the ability to navigate challenges while building a scalable enterprise.

A key focus of the session was the role of franchising as a business growth model, particularly within the restaurant and hospitality sector. Participants were introduced to the opportunities and challenges involved in expanding a business across multiple locations while maintaining operational standards, customer experience and business sustainability.
The discussion also highlighted the importance of understanding market conditions, developing effective business systems and building a strong organizational foundation before pursuing large-scale expansion. For aspiring restaurant entrepreneurs, these insights offered practical perspectives on transforming an individual business concept into a scalable enterprise.

Tanweer Ahmed also shared lessons from overcoming business challenges and emphasized the importance of resilience, innovation and continuous learning in entrepreneurship. His journey provided participants with a real-world perspective on how business leaders can identify opportunities, manage growth and create long-term economic value.
The session further highlighted the potential of entrepreneurship to strengthen Pakistan–U.S. business connections. Experiences gained in international markets can provide valuable perspectives for Pakistani entrepreneurs seeking to develop competitive businesses, expand internationally and contribute to stronger economic linkages.

The initiative was aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 8, Decent Work and Economic Growth, which promotes sustained and inclusive economic growth, productive employment and decent work. By encouraging entrepreneurship, business skills, innovation and responsible enterprise development, the session reinforced the role of entrepreneurship in creating employment opportunities and supporting economic development.
For COTHM Pakistan, sessions with experienced industry and business leaders form an important part of connecting education with real-world professional experience. Such engagements allow students and emerging professionals to learn from established entrepreneurs and gain perspectives that complement their academic and technical education.

The session served as an opportunity to inspire participants to think beyond conventional employment pathways and explore entrepreneurship, innovation and business leadership as potential avenues for professional growth and economic contribution.
Through initiatives such as this, COTHM Pakistan continues to promote a learning environment where skills, entrepreneurship and industry knowledge come together to prepare future professionals and business leaders for an increasingly competitive global economy.
