Severe monsoon rains have triggered worsening floods across Punjab and parts of Balochistan, raising the national death toll to 190, with 63 casualties in Punjab. Thousands have been displaced, and infrastructure damage is widespread. Rescue operations by PDMA, police, Rescue 1122, and Pakistan Army continue, with over 1,000 people evacuated from flood-hit areas, including Jhelum, Chakwal, and Rawalpindi. Flash floods have inundated Mandi Bahauddin Jail, forcing inmate transfers, while Sargodha, Hafizabad, and Chiniot have reported major damage and casualties from roof collapses. Rising water levels in the Indus River at Kalabagh and Jinnah Barrage have prompted flood alerts across multiple districts. CM Maryam Nawaz directed full drainage in affected areas and preparations for another rain spell from July 21-28. NDMA warns of additional monsoon spells, with heavy rainfall expected across Punjab, southern districts, and parts of Sindh.
