HRSP Launches Pakistan Hair Transplant Tourism Initiative to Boost Economy

In a groundbreaking move to position Pakistan as a global hub for hair transplant procedures, the President of the Hair Restoration Society of Pakistan (HRSP), Dr. Rana Irfan, has announced the launch of Pakistan Hair Transplant Tourism. The initiative, introduced under the HRSP platform, aims to significantly uplift the country’s medical tourism industry and generate billions of dollars in economic revenue.

The announcement was made during a press conference held at the National Press Club, Islamabad. Dr. Rana Irfan was joined by HRSP Joint Secretary Dr. Jawad Jehangir and spokesperson Dr. Mubashir, according to a press release issued on Saturday.

As part of this ambitious project, Dr. Irfan shared plans to train 1,000 new doctors in hair transplant surgery from four major cities—Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Peshawar. He assured that these doctors would be provided with employment opportunities, as well as accommodation and meals, as part of the program.

Highlighting Pakistan’s existing medical expertise, Dr. Irfan noted that the country has a robust pool of highly qualified professionals. “Currently, Pakistan is home to 26 doctors certified by the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS)—the highest international qualification in the field,” he said.

Additionally, around 20 Pakistani doctors are affiliated with the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), and 4 have earned the distinguished title of Fellow of the ISHRS (FISHRS), placing them among the global elite in hair transplant surgery.

Dr. Irfan expressed confidence that this initiative will not only enhance Pakistan’s global reputation in the medical tourism sector but also create sustainable employment and training opportunities for the country’s medical professionals.
