Oman Air Launches Inaugural Direct Flight to Sochi, Strengthening Tourism and Trade Links

Oman Air has celebrated the launch of its inaugural direct flight between Muscat and Sochi, marking a significant milestone in enhancing tourism, business, and cultural connectivity between the Sultanate of Oman and the Russian Federation.

The inaugural flight was welcomed at Sochi International Airport by His Excellency Hamood Salim Al Towaiya, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Russian Federation, along with airport officials, tourism representatives, and industry partners. The ceremony highlighted the growing cooperation between the two countries and the importance of expanding international air connectivity.

The new route links Muscat, Oman’s vibrant capital, with Sochi, one of Russia’s leading leisure and resort destinations renowned for its Black Sea coastline, mountain landscapes, and year-round tourism appeal.

Officials believe the direct service will encourage greater tourist exchanges, facilitate business travel, and strengthen trade and cultural relations between Oman and Russia. The route is also expected to provide travelers with more convenient access to both destinations while supporting the continued growth of the aviation and tourism sectors.

The launch reflects Oman Air’s commitment to expanding its international network and connecting passengers to key global destinations through enhanced travel options and world-class service.
