The College of Tourism & Hotel Management (COTHM) Pakistan held a spectacular Orientation Day to welcome newly enrolled students to the institution. The event brought together students, faculty, industry experts, and distinguished guests for a memorable beginning to the new academic journey.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and the national anthem. Mr. Ahmad Shafiq, Founder/President and CEO of COTHM, addressed the students and welcomed them to the institute, sharing its vision, global standards, and commitment to providing world-class hospitality education.
Renowned motivational speaker Qasim Ali Shah inspired the audience with a powerful and thought-provoking session. He urged students to believe in themselves, stay focused, and adopt a growth mindset to achieve their dreams. Mr. Fraz Kasuri, Director Media at COTHM, also addressed the audience and briefed the students about Hospitality Plus – Pakistan’s premier hospitality and tourism magazine – and COTHM TV, the institution’s dedicated digital media platform. He emphasized the role of media in shaping modern hospitality narratives and encouraged students to actively engage with these platforms to showcase their talent, stay informed about industry trends, and develop professional communication skills essential for today’s dynamic hospitality landscape.
As a highlight of the event, staff members were honored with appreciation shields in recognition of their dedicated services and contributions to the institution. The symbolic gesture reflected COTHM’s strong culture of acknowledgment and encouragement.
Industry professionals from various fields also shared valuable insights about careers in hotel management, culinary arts, tourism, and event planning. Students were introduced to COTHM’s academic structure, experienced faculty, international partnerships, internship programs, and campus facilities.
