Iran and UAE to Resume Direct Flights from July 1 After Months-Long Suspension

In a significant step toward restoring regional connectivity, Iran and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will resume direct flights between the two countries from July 1, ending a months-long suspension of air services.

According to Iranian authorities, the initial phase of the restoration will see Iranian airlines operating direct flights on the route, with additional international and regional carriers expected to join operations in the coming weeks following the necessary regulatory approvals.

The resumption of direct flights is expected to provide much-needed relief to travelers, business professionals, and expatriate communities by improving connectivity and reducing travel disruptions between the two neighboring countries.

In another positive development, Iranian officials confirmed that cargo clearance operations at Jebel Ali Port in the UAE have also resumed. The reopening of one of the region’s busiest logistics hubs is expected to accelerate the recovery of bilateral trade, which had been affected in recent months.

Authorities anticipate that commercial activities between Iran and the UAE will gradually return to normal over the coming weeks as supply chains stabilize and trade volumes increase.

The restoration of both air travel and cargo operations is being viewed as an important milestone in improving diplomatic and economic relations between the two countries. Analysts believe the renewed connectivity will strengthen trade, investment, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges while supporting broader regional economic cooperation.

Officials also indicated that additional international air routes are expected to be restored after completing the required regulatory and operational procedures, further enhancing regional mobility and economic integration.
