Chefs’ Association of Pakistan Holds Grand Oath-Taking Ceremony for Newly Elected Governing Body

The Chefs’ Association of Pakistan (CAP) organized a grand oath-taking ceremony for its newly elected Governing Body. The prestigious event brought together distinguished chefs, hospitality leaders, culinary educators, and students from across the nation to celebrate leadership, unity, and excellence in Pakistan’s culinary community.

 

The ceremony commenced with the arrival of chefs and students, followed by a live cooking demonstration showcasing creativity, teamwork, and culinary innovation. The formal session began with the recitation from the Holy Quran, the National Anthem, and a welcome address by Patron-in-Chief Waqar Ilyas Sheikh, who praised the dedication and commitment of the association’s members in promoting Pakistan’s culinary identity at home and abroad.

Mr. Samiullah Khan, Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA), graced the event as the Chief Guest and administered the oath to the newly elected Governing Body of CAP.

In his keynote address, Mr. Samiullah Khan praised CAP’s pivotal role in empowering youth and promoting Pakistani cuisine on the global stage.

President Ahmad Shafiq outlined his vision for the future of Pakistan’s culinary industry, announcing the establishment of ‘Pakistani Cuisine Day’, to be celebrated annually on November 20.

“We will make Pakistan great by our efforts and potential. To honor our rich food heritage, we will celebrate ‘Pakistani Cuisine Day’ every year on November 20— a day dedicated to recognizing our national dishes and culinary diversity,”

Adding an international flavor to the event, a special segment titled “Thai Cuisine Master Class” was conducted by Chef Thanakon from Thailand, the founder of Sunny Kitchen in Pakistan. This live session offered participants a firsthand experience of authentic Thai culinary techniques and ingredients, emphasizing CAP’s commitment to global culinary collaboration and professional exchange.

Chef Thanakon stated,

“I am deeply grateful to the people of Pakistan and the Chefs’ Association of Pakistan for their warm hospitality and kindness,” said Chef Thanakon, founder of Sunny Kitchen. “It was an honor to share the art of Thai cuisine with such passionate chefs and students. Pakistan has an incredibly rich food culture, and I look forward to building more culinary bridges between our countries through mutual learning and friendship.”

The event concluded with group photographs and networking sessions reflecting the unity and shared purpose of Pakistan’s culinary professionals.
