Lahore: In a major initiative to elevate professional standards in Pakistan’s hospitality industry, a Gold Standard Certification and training session on hygiene and food safety was successfully conducted at COTHM DHA, bringing together leading international experts and industry professionals.

The session was led by Richard Sprenger, Chairman of Highfield UK, who delivered comprehensive training based on internationally recognized food safety standards and best practices.

A key collaborator for the session was Nestlé, with prominent professionals contributing valuable industry insights. Representing Nestlé were Hira Laique, Advisory Chef; Alina Lodhi, Brand Manager Foods; and Muhammad Hassan Khan, National Sales Manager.


The training session attracted a wide participation of chefs and hospitality professionals, who engaged in hands-on learning focused on hygiene protocols, food safety compliance, and modern culinary standards. The program aimed to align local practices with global benchmarks, ensuring higher quality and safety in food handling and preparation.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Gold Standard Certifications were awarded to participants by Richard Sprenger, alongside Ahmad Shafiq, Founder, President, and CEO of COTHM. The certification recognized the participants’ commitment to maintaining excellence in hygiene and food safety practices.

Speaking on the occasion, Ahmad Shafiq stated that COTHM continues its tradition of creating impactful opportunities for chefs and hospitality professionals. He emphasized that such collaborations play a vital role in upgrading skills and ensuring international exposure, adding that similar initiatives will be sustained in the future.
