Pakistan’s Aviation Sector Soars Higher with Launch of New Domestic Airline ‘South Air’

Pakistan’s aviation industry marked a significant milestone on Monday with the official launch of South Air, a new domestic airline aimed at strengthening regional connectivity and making air travel more accessible across the country.

The inaugural ceremony, held in Multan, was attended by Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, Chairman Senate of Pakistan, who described the launch as a historic development for the nation’s aviation and transportation sectors.

Speaking at the event, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani emphasized that the introduction of South Air would help bridge long-standing connectivity gaps between major urban centers and underserved regions, particularly in South Punjab, interior Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The airline aims to improve domestic mobility, facilitate economic activity, and provide travelers with more efficient and affordable transportation options. Industry experts believe the initiative could play a key role in boosting regional tourism, trade, and business connectivity while contributing to the overall growth of Pakistan’s aviation market.

The launch of South Air comes at a time when demand for domestic travel is increasing, reflecting renewed confidence in Pakistan’s aviation sector and its future potential.

With a focus on accessibility, regional integration, and service expansion, South Air is expected to contribute significantly to improving connectivity between remote areas and major economic hubs across the country.
