Pakistan Clears Path for New $30 Million Private Airline ‘Jet Green’ After Decade-Long Delays

Pakistan’s aviation sector is set for a major boost as authorities officially cleared the way for Jet Green Private Limited, a new $30 million private airline project, to move toward operational readiness after years of regulatory and licensing delays.

According to the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), the airline’s long-pending approvals and certification hurdles have now been resolved, ending nearly a decade of delays that had kept the project stalled.

The council stated that it coordinated with relevant institutions to fast-track aviation licensing, safety clearances, commercial permits, and airline certification processes, allowing Jet Green Private Limited to transition from the planning stage toward active operations.

The development marks another significant effort by the Special Investment Facilitation Council to restore investor confidence and accelerate strategic projects in sectors including aviation, mining, energy, and information technology.

Industry experts believe the entry of a new private airline could increase competition within Pakistan’s aviation market, improve service quality, and create new employment opportunities across aviation and related industries.

Pakistan’s aviation sector has faced several operational and financial challenges in recent years, particularly following the 2020 Pakistan International Airlines Flight 8303 crash crash in Karachi, which intensified global scrutiny over pilot licensing standards and aviation oversight in the country.

Despite these challenges, the government continues efforts to stabilize the economy and attract foreign and domestic investment through reform initiatives and strategic facilitation platforms.

The launch timeline for Jet Green Private Limited has not yet been officially announced, but the project is expected to contribute positively to Pakistan’s growing demand for domestic and regional air connectivity.
