Secretary General of the Lahore Restaurant Association (LRA), Ahmad Shafiq, has expressed deep appreciation to the Government of Punjab for lifting the 10PM time restriction on restaurants, calling it a timely and significant relief for the hospitality sector.
He stated that the decision reflects a responsive and business-friendly approach by the provincial leadership towards the concerns of the restaurant industry, which has been facing sustained operational and financial pressures.
He noted that the restriction had negatively impacted customer flow, revenues, and overall business sustainability across the sector. The removal of the curbs, he said, comes as a “sigh of relief” for thousands of restaurants and their workforce.
Ahmad Shafiq further emphasized that continued constructive engagement between the industry and government is producing positive results, and credited dialogue and consultation as key drivers of this development.
He reiterated that the hospitality sector remains a key contributor to employment and economic activity, and stressed the need for consistent and supportive policies to ensure its long-term stability.
While welcoming the decision, he urged the Government of Punjab to maintain this facilitative measure even after June 1, 2026, highlighting that business-friendly operating conditions are essential for the survival and recovery of the restaurant industry.
The LRA Secretary General reaffirmed the association’s commitment to continued collaboration with the government for the strengthening and growth of the hospitality sector.
