COTHM and Friends & Flavours Join Hands to Strengthen Industry-Academia Collaboration

The College of Tourism & Hotel Management (COTHM) and Friends & Flavours have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration between education and industry and create new opportunities for students to develop professional skills and gain valuable workplace exposure.

The partnership has been spearheaded by the Department of Employability & Career Services (DECS) at COTHM, reflecting the institution’s continued focus on preparing students for the professional world through practical learning, industry engagement, and career development.

Under the collaboration, Friends & Flavours will support students by sharing industry knowledge, professional expertise, mentorship, and practical insights. The partnership is designed to help students understand real-world workplace standards and develop the technical and professional competencies required to succeed in the culinary and hospitality sectors.

The collaboration will provide students with greater exposure to professional practices and workplace expectations, allowing them to connect their academic learning with practical industry requirements. Such partnerships play an important role in developing market-ready graduates who can confidently enter the workforce.

Through DECS, COTHM continues to build strong relationships with leading organizations to create meaningful opportunities for students, including professional exposure, mentorship, skills development, and potential career pathways.

The partnership with Friends & Flavours is expected to particularly benefit students pursuing careers in culinary arts, hospitality management, food and beverage operations, and related professional fields.

COTHM expressed its appreciation to the Friends & Flavours team for dedicating their time, expertise, mentorship, and resources toward student development. Their contribution will help learners gain a deeper understanding of industry standards and professional expectations.

The signing of the MoU represents another step toward narrowing the gap between classroom education and professional practice. By bringing educators and industry professionals together, COTHM and Friends & Flavours aim to contribute to the development of skilled, confident, and industry-ready young professionals.

The collaboration also reinforces the importance of strong industry-academia partnerships in creating sustainable career opportunities and supporting the future growth of Pakistan’s hospitality and culinary workforce.
