Actress and Influencer Aliya Ali Visits COTHM Food Safety Lab to Explore Practical Training

Actress and influencer Aliya Ali visited the COTHM Food Safety Lab to explore the institution’s practical approach to food safety education and hygiene training.

During the visit, Aliya Ali observed how students learn essential food safety practices, including food hygiene, safe food handling, allergen awareness, personal hygiene and the prevention of cross-contamination. The visit highlighted the role of practical learning in helping students understand the procedures required to maintain food safety standards in professional kitchens and food-service environments.

COTHM Pakistan integrates practical training with theoretical learning to prepare students for the operational demands of the food and hospitality industries. Through food safety education, students develop an understanding of potential food hazards, hygienic handling procedures and the importance of maintaining clean and safe working environments.

The training also familiarises students with practices that help reduce food safety risks and protect consumers. These skills are particularly relevant to careers in culinary arts, restaurants, hotels, catering and other food-service operations, where hygiene and safe handling procedures are essential.

Aliya Ali appreciated COTHM’s efforts to equip students with practical knowledge and skills for their future professional roles. Her visit also drew attention to the importance of raising awareness about food safety among aspiring hospitality professionals and the wider community.

Educational institutions play an important role in developing a workforce that understands food safety responsibilities and can apply appropriate practices in real-world settings. Practical learning environments, such as food safety laboratories, give students opportunities to connect classroom concepts with workplace procedures.

The visit underscored the significance of food safety education in supporting hygiene awareness and responsible food handling across Pakistan’s hospitality and food-service sectors.

Through its focus on practical skills and professional preparation, COTHM Pakistan continues to emphasise the importance of food safety knowledge for students pursuing careers in the hospitality industry.
